After a successful first event, Advanced Telecommunication Technology Research Group (ATT RG) in collaboration with ICONIX Consulting Sdn Bhd, JURUTEK, Kolej Tuanku Canselor (KTC), UTM, on behalf of the School of Electrical Engineering (SKE), Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), have organized the Internet-of-Things (IoT) Open Day 2018 for the second time, which will be held on the 18th November 2018. Activities during the IoT Carnival include project showcase, hackathon, hands-on training and workshop, open booths and industrial talks. There will be participation from 30 secondary students in Johor Bahru area as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program to promote exposure and awareness to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education which is in line with the Government’s National STEM Action Plan 2017 initiatives
The main objectives of the IoT Carnival: -
- To expose the Internet-of-Things (IoT) technology to our guests, UTM staffs and students.
- To encourage UTM students, especially the undergraduate final year students to further their studies in IoT-related fields at SKE UTM.
- To promote IoT-based products, including research findings, final year projects and related capstone labs projects.
- To provide the opportunities of research collaboration between industries and researchers with ATT and COMM division, as well as SKE in general.
There are two main events scheduled for the carnival :
- IoT Hackathon 2018
- IoT Training 2018
- IoT Workshop 2018
- IoT Open Day 2018

We sincerely regret to inform that the IoT Hackathon 2018 which is scheduled on the 17th November 2018 is postponed due to some unforeseen circumstances. We will be sure to let you know as soon as it is rescheduled again. We apologize for any inconvenience. However, IoT Open Day on 18th November 2018 is on as scheduled. Everybody is welcome to event activities such as IoT project showcase, hands-on experience, industrial talks and IoT workshop for high school students.
